Vineyard Supervisor

Coastal Vineyard Care Associates seeks an energetic, motivated, organized and hard working person to start as a vineyard supervisor to help manage vineyard operations on beautiful Santa Barbara County vineyards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist vineyard manager on multiple vineyard sites including established vineyards and new developments
• Schedule vineyard job activities
• Coordinate and supervise crews
• Supervise tractor work and spray operations
• Participate in irrigation and frost control
• Record keeping in all aspects of the vineyard operations
• Maintenance of equipment, buildings and irrigation system

Position requirements:

Minimum 2 years vineyard experience
• Knowledge of farming and harvesting equipment
• Knowledge of viticulture, pests and diseases
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to speak, read and write proficiently in both English and Spanish
• Ability to enforce company policy; ensure that every job or task is safe for the employees; supervise to make sure all work is carried out correctly; assist the workers and treat them with respect
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work well with others and communicate with all levels of workforce
• Ability to work independently and make own decisions
• Ability to plan work and achieve required results
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
• Willing to work 5.5 days per week, including nights and weekends as needed throughout the year, especially during harvest
