Grades Teacher 2018-19

The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara is looking for a full-time grades teacher with a love for children, commitment to personal and professional development, and strong collaborative skills in a learning community of teachers, parents, and administrators. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher), a Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate, as well as an active anthroposophical practice. Possession of a teaching credential is preferred; diverse life experiences and interests are required.

WSSB was founded in 1984 and is a long-time AWSNA affiliate. We are located in Goleta surrounded by green space with hiking trails, fields, streams, a eucalyptus grove, and parks on either side. The site offers many opportunities to connect with nature from our gardens and trails to our connections with local organic farms and ranches.

WSSB currently has a student population of serving 100 students from preschool through eighth grade who come from surrounding communities of Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, Montecito, Santa Ynez and Lompoc. Situated near the world-famous University of California, Santa Barbara, our community enjoys easy access to high quality performing arts, farmer’s markets and outdoor activities.

The base salary for a full-time teacher is currently $46,436. Employee benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, tuition remission, and other benefits.
